Last updated: January 2026. This policy explains what personal information TrueNorth Tested collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and, where applicable, Quebec’s Law 25.
What we collect
- Information you give us. If you use the contact form or email us, we receive your name, email address and the content of your message.
- Analytics data. Aggregated, non-identifying information about pages viewed, approximate region, device type, browser and referring site.
- Technical data. IP address and server logs, retained for security and abuse prevention.
- Cookies. See our cookie policy for the full list and how to control them.
How we use it
To reply to you, to understand which reviews are useful, to fix errors, to keep the site secure, and to measure whether our affiliate links work. We do not build advertising profiles of individual readers and we do not sell personal data.
Affiliate links and third parties
When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or affiliate network may set cookies to attribute the sale. Those cookies are controlled by them, under their own privacy policies — Amazon.ca and PartnerBoost in our case. We do not receive your name, address or payment details from them; we receive only aggregate commission reports.
How long we keep data
Contact messages: up to 24 months so we can follow up on corrections. Analytics: 14 months. Server logs: 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and you can withdraw consent to marketing contact at any time. Email [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, note it on the homepage.
